Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on the 19th of January. 19. 1946 to a low-income family, with twelve kids later on, realized early that she could escape the hardships of her life by using a creative mind. Before she could write and read, she had already composed her own music. Her first guitar purchase came when she was just 8 years old and started singing at an Knoxville Tenn radio station at the age of 11. That same year she made her debut recording for Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. At the age of 16, she established herself in the local community, however her ambition was bigger. On the very day she graduated high school, it was 1964. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her two first charting albums for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer to perform on his show syndicated by him in the years prior to this. Parton took the job in 1966, joined RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in the year 1969. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974, as her own albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were charting collaborations with them. Parton wrote I Will Always love You to Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. It reached number one. In 1974, Parton's song I Will Always Love You reached No.
